Trump Endorses Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray for U.S. House

President Donald Trump gave his complete endorsement to Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray for the U.S. House, calling him a loyal ally who will never let conservatives down.

Trump Endorses Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray for U.S. House

President Donald Trump threw his full support behind Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray on Monday, endorsing the Republican nominee for the state's at-large U.S. House seat ahead of the November midterm elections.

Trump issued the endorsement via Truth Social, writing that Gray has his "Complete and Total Endorsement" and praising the candidate as someone who "will never let you down." The endorsement comes after Gray won a competitive GOP primary in August to succeed Rep. Harriet Hageman, who is running for U.S. Senate.

Gray Wins Crowded Primary Field

Gray secured the Republican nomination in August after defeating several primary opponents in the race for Wyoming's lone House seat. The secretary of state has positioned himself as a strong Trump ally throughout his political career, emphasizing election integrity and conservative values.

The endorsement carries significant weight in Wyoming, where Trump won over 70% of the vote in the 2024 presidential election. Multiple Republican candidates previously suspended their campaigns for the same seat in 2021 after Trump endorsed Hageman to challenge then-incumbent Rep. Liz Cheney.

Gray thanked the president for the backing on Monday, reaffirming his commitment to Trump's agenda and conservative principles. The secretary of state has been a vocal supporter of Trump's policies on border security, energy independence, and limited government.

Path to November Victory

Wyoming remains one of the nation's most reliably Republican states, giving Gray a strong advantage heading into the general election. The state has not elected a Democrat to Congress since 1978, and Republicans hold supermajorities in both chambers of the state legislature.

Gray previously served in the Wyoming House of Representatives before winning election as secretary of state in 2022. He ran unopposed in that race and has built a reputation as a conservative champion on voting access and election security issues.

The November midterm elections will determine control of Congress, with Republicans defending narrow majorities in both chambers. Wyoming's House seat is considered safe Republican territory, but Trump's endorsement removes any remaining uncertainty about party unity behind Gray's candidacy.

Hageman Senate Bid Creates Opening

The open House seat resulted from Hageman's decision to run for U.S. Senate, creating a rare competitive primary in the deeply conservative state. Hageman rose to national prominence after defeating Cheney in the 2022 primary with Trump's backing.

Trump also endorsed Hageman for Senate earlier this year, giving his preferred candidates momentum in both of Wyoming's federal races. The dual endorsements signal Trump's continued influence over Republican primaries and his focus on electing loyal allies to Congress.

Gray's campaign has emphasized economic issues, energy policy, and federal overreach as key priorities. Wyoming's economy relies heavily on energy production, and Gray has pledged to fight against Biden-era environmental regulations that impact the state's coal, oil, and natural gas industries.
