Federal officials have publicly confirmed the investigation's existence but have not disclosed the underlying evidence or findings.

Comer's preferred next step is full disclosure of what ICE has uncovered. The investigation centers on long-standing allegations of immigration fraud dating back years, though the specific claims under review remain sealed. A Freedom of Information Act request for ICE records related to Omar was recently denied, citing an ongoing enforcement proceeding.

Conflicting Signals on Investigation Status

The push comes amid mixed signals about the probe's direction. The Office of Congressional Conduct voted 5-1 last week to dismiss related ethics allegations against Omar, stating they found no evidence she "knowingly" filed false information.
